TPR GOLF ACADEMY
With this beginner initiative we thought of something new.
Mit dieser Einsteiger Initiative lassen wir uns was neues einfallen.
Lots of people only know Golf to be sporty little German car. Now with our new Trail course you can actually try the sport.
So that your golfing adventure starts of in the right fashion, we give you the right quote for it: PLAY GOLF AND HAVE FUN
For 1000.- THB only, you will get for 2 hour trail-course in a small group (min. 2 person) at our academy.
The good thing: You get all the needed equipment, you dont need to commit to something and last but not least, in these 2 hours you will get to know if golf is your game or not.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable, anything where you can move freely. No super tight jeans, instead wear some nice comfortable long trousers or Bermuda shorts, sport skirts etc. Together with a polo shirt with a collar and sport shoes (ideally with a sole that has a good grip).
Our facility is completely covered by a roof we still suggest a baseball cap or a hat.
I find golf very interesting and it is fun indeed! What to do?
In the ideal case you can join and become a member of the TPR GOLF ACADEMY and use all our tools, gizmos and gadgets at your convenience.
We also customize further lesson packages and courses for you if you wish to.
In golf it is the same as driving a car, no body can tell you how long it takes until you are able to play, but we from the TPR GOLF ACADEMY will do our best to make it happen as quickly as possible, so that you can get your handicap certificate.
What do I do after getting my first handicap?
Well first of all keep on practicing. For the benefit of your golf game, practice under regular visits to your golf pro.
To play golf back home you most likely need to become a member of a golf course (apart from public courses).
Here in Thailand everything is so much easier. You go to the golf course pay your green & caddy fee and just play.
BUT PLEASE DO PLAY ACCORDING TO THE R&A RULES OF GOLF AND ETTIQUETTE.
In this course one of our pros will be with you for 10 days, 2 hours each day. You will learn the basics of the golf swing, pitching, chipping, bunker shots and putting. Everything you require to start playing golf and enjoying it, including your first handicap.
Our kids program focuses on the fun aspect. Let Kids be Kids combined with Golf. Golf is a sport which helps our youngsters to gain important experiences, social ones, such as beeing and working in a group, meeting new friends and it is also great for concentration and self believe.
The program lasts over 7 days and includes a 2 hour session per day, where we do driving range work and short game. As a highlight at the end of the course we will organize a small tournament (target golf, long drive and short game).
The course will be held in thai, english and german.
Golf clubs in Europe require from their future members to absolve this course, otherwise they will not permit them to play and get a Handicap. Here in Thailand this is not the case, but we from the TPR Golf Academy believe that it is only correct to learn the full spectrum of a sport, especially things, as important as rules & etiquette.
The course will take 5 days, one hour per day.
Our intermediate course focuses on players from P.C until handicap 15, which struggle to lower their score. Our pros will elicit and fix your swing faults. The program will take 7 days. The daily procedure will be, in the morning driving range practice, lunch and in the afternoon 18 holes of golf.
With our knowledge and our top notch swing tools we will cure you from your old self and get your swing on the right track for lower scores and a lower handicap.
Here the focus is on better players, who want to improve their overall game, and start shooting those red figures! Our Pros will video analyze your swing, putting and chipping.
It is one thing to hit balls on the driving range and to groove your swing, but we need to be able to take our game to the course. Where do we aim? What do we do on uphill, downhill lies? Wind, water, sand, out of bounds and rough!
We from the TPR Golf Academy will help you to play the golf course and not let the golf course play you.
The course will take 3 days, one hour per day.
Fitness is one of the keys to good golf. Look at the top professionals in the world they hit the gym 4 times a week.
There is is a reason why they do it and
We will show you with our own professional Golf Fitness programm!

Improve your putting skills on our shaded Putting Green with Z Factor and the Putting Arc we have the perfect putting aid.
Can YOU really Improve 9 or more strokes?'
If YOU have a PLAN -- yes YOU can!!!
The golfers age old question is: What is the simplest most effective way for me to improve my golf scores?" Its a brilliant question so we are going to give you a brilliant answer!
Let's start by talking about last weeks, Hunter Haas won by scoring an impressive 4 round score of 21 under par. These 4 rounds included a 2nd round 64. So, we would like to focus on his 64 as it could help you to understand how you could also start to improve your scores.
So to start out, we will bore you with a few stats so that you can see how impressive this score is, however we then want to help you to relate this to your golf game so that you can make your own PLAN for what you need to work on in your golf game.
To shoot the 64: Average Driver 334 yards; Fairways Hit 10; Greens 11; Putts 23
Now, for most Golfers, the goal isn't to score 64 for 18 holes. It may be to break 100, 90 or 80 with some single digit Golfers wanting to shoot par. So hitting a golf ball 334 yards isn't necessary.
However, since most of our articles discuss your golf swing, let's talk about something a little different. Lets focus on the 23 putts. As amazing as it is to hit the golf ball over 330 yards, the average Golfer has almost as much chance of having 23 putts for 18 holes as they do of hitting the golf ball 334 yards!
And for the Golfer that doesnt believe us - 23 putts equals 13 1 putts and 5 2 putts yes, 13 1 putts! Or to put it in an even more direct way whens the last time that you had 6 1 putts? 13 1 putts might not be as awe inspiring as standing there and watching someone hit the golf ball 334 yards however, it is just as skillful.
And although TPR G.A believes that the first place to improve your golf score is to first improve your long game, which is counter to the old myth of having to first improve your short game for better scores - lets talk about how improving your putting just a little bit has the "potential" for producing better results.
On the surface, if you improved your putting, you should improve your scores. But were dealing with realit and in reality improved putting doesnt always translate into better scores. Because if you're inconsistent with your Driver on most holes and often taking penalties and punching out of the trees, who cares how well you putt. By the time you get to the back 9 holes, you're so tired and frustrated from playing out of the trees, golf maybe isn't fun anymore by the time you get to the green. So regardless of how much better your putting stroke is, who cares if I two putt? It'll just be another double bogey because I can't keep my Driver in play!
However, we want to speak about these 23 putts because there are Golfers that average twice as many putts per round. We not saying that there are millions of Golfers that do so, although 46 putts would be equivalent to a Golfer having 8 holes where they 2 putt and 10 holes where they 3 putt.
Now, for the Golfer that says I'm a pretty good putter. I hardly ever 3 putt. We would say that this qualifies that Golfer usually having between 38 and 41 putts. In our mind and our experience with Golfers, the phrase hardly ever means that they 3 putt between 2 to 5 times every 18 holes. And whenever we have heard that comment and we have heard it more times than we can count, we have found that this Golfers average score is usually between 93 and 105.
So lets do some mathematics for this 93 to 105 Golfer. Yet, because of the space available for me to write, we have to limit this example to only this scoring range. But if youre in another scoring range we are sure you can make the necessary adjustments to personalize this information.
If the Golfers average score is 97 and that Golfer has 39 putts per round (15 2 putts and 3 3 putts) that would mean that if they somehow brought their putts down to 23 for one magical round of golf then they would end up with a score of 81.
Wait, is that correct? Let us check our math. 39 putts minus 23 putts is 16 strokes less and if the Golfer was averaging a score of 97 and we took those 16 surplus putts off their score that would mean an 81. Hmmmm, that gets us thinking. Does that get you thinking?
It gets us thinking that although you might never have 23 putts for 18 holes, if you well be able to improve from 39 putts to a more reasonable 30 putts that would mean that you have now scored 88. 97 minus 9 less putts equals 88!
And yes, we still believe our statement above about having to also improve your Driver so that you can become more accurate and gain distance. And yes, it is of extreme importance for you to have a PLAN for the golf course so that you can go around the 18 holes playing to your Strengths and away from your Weaknesses. However, there is potential for many Golfers to improve 9 strokes by going from 39 putts to 30 putts.
Now lets talk about your Driver -
Most of the time you play golf youll have 14 Drives per 18 holes. And staying in that 93 to 105 scoring level, we have found, that most of these Golfers lose 2 to 4 Golf balls per round (into the trees or water) with their tee shots. In addition, these same Golfers also put themselves in bad positions behind trees and bushes, where they have to waste a shot another 2 to 4 times per round.
So lets make it easy. Lets say this Golfer loses 3 golf balls and has to waste 3 golf shots punching out. That would be a fair number, wouldn't you agree? 8 pretty good drives and 6 bad drives?
Now, lets say you can improve just half of those 6 bad drives, so that now you only have 3 bad drives. Would you be satisfied? Well, you should. Because if you did and you improved your putting like I spoke about above (39 putts to 30 putts) you now have improved from a Golfer that frequently scores 97 to a Golfer that frequently scores 85!
Now, get this: only improving your driver won't help your scores much and only improving your putter won't help you much.
For example: the improvement you see in your driver has you feeling good about your game, plus the added distance you hit the golf ball allows easier, more accurate irons to the green. But you continually miss putts. What starts to happen as your round continues? The missed putts start to wear on you and it starts affecting your entire game.
But if you improved both your driver and your putting, now since you're feeling good about your game while standing on the tee, plus you're an improved putter, this translates into better golf scores!
The key is that you need to know these stats to be able to work on improving them.
Do you have a PLAN for improvement or are you still monkeying around?
The Monkey just keeps doing the same old, same old and their scores continue to be the same old, same old.
The Player has a PLAN.
Go ahead, come to the TPR GOLF ACADEMY, at the 2nd. floor of Greenway Driving Range Pattaya on Sukhumvit, (opposite Underwater World) direction Sattahip and learn how to become a player.
Best regards,
Tyrone and Neville

After I stopped to play golf for more than 6 years, i missed the game more then ever.
Now starting to play again, I was looking around for a good facility.
The TPR Golf Academy on the first floor at the Greenway Driving Range ist the right place for me.
The lessons with Tyrone and his team are never boring and their way to explane the fundamentals of the different aspects is fantastic.

As an elderly golfer I was looking for a teacher that could improve my game without trying to make me swing like a young ¨ Tiger Woods ¨.
After Tyrone's father told me of his son and the academy, I thought to give it a try.
Tyrone realy helped me to swing my club the best suitable way for my age.
Thank you Tyrone for the additional 30 yards.

GOLF AND ELDERY PEOPLE - "it's never too late"
Sports are not an activity that easily lends itself to age. There are many physical demands which make it impossible to continue playing beyond a certain age. That is why retirement is the bane of most sports people and they normally retire once they start losing matches on a fairly regular basis. It is at that point that they recognize that the time is up. You can then not associate that sort of system with elderly care. We are going to try and do the impossible by bringing to the table a proposition for using the golf model to try and end the type of discrimination that we see in other areas of life. We know that the article has a propensity to create controversy but it is still an area which people can explore to see whether we can learn something from this sport.
Removing Barriers
Rather than outright ageism, many of the problems that older people face are due to ignorance. Some people completely refuse to accept that there is discrimination of any sort and they will go out of their way to avoid mentioning it as a factor in the work that they do. Some sports associations have always been guilty of this. Elderly people are left behind in barriers that do not allow them to enjoy the last few days of their lives. Golf is a wonderful pastime that gives elderly people the time and space to relax. The pace at which events are organized is also conducive to a semi retirement mind frame. Therefore you will have a situation whereby many golf clubs have a very good representation of elderly people who form the hub of the community.
It is not clear to me whether golf has reached this stage through planning or by accident. It might very well be that the golfing community has never decided that it wanted to promote elderly people as part of its clientele. Rather it might well be that the nature of the sport simply attracted that segment of the market. What is deliberate is the way they treat the people when they get there. You find that respect and gentleness are always valued in golf and for people with older fashioned values this can go a long way to gaining the loyalty of that particular customer base.
We would go as far as saying that in the same way that we have senior events in golf and tennis, other sports can follow suit. There is nothing stopping elderly people from playing football or badminton if they feel up to it. We would envisage that this would go beyond the traditional domain of ex professional players but could also include amateurs who just happen to be old but love the sport nonetheless. There does not have to be massive amounts of money. The participation itself might just do the trick and cause happiness and relief for many pensioners. If golf and other sports believe this is impossible, then they might want to consider sponsoring other initiative which supports elderly activities.

THE TPRGOLFACADEMY WILL SHOW YOU THE RIGHT APPROACH TO YOUR GOLF FITNESS
I just wish I had started Rogers program 20 years ago. Arnold Palmer
Research studies have clearly proven that professional golfers have an average of 50% to 100% more flexibility in their upper trunks than the average person on the street and in fact, possess more upper body flexibility on average than NBA basketball players!
Considering that the average golfer in America possess an AARP card, and qualifies for senior discounts at the movie theater, its no wonder why they struggle with their golf games as they venture deeper into the back nine of life. Clearly, as we enter into the catabolic process beginning at around age 40, our bodies begin to lose bone density, muscle mass, flexibility, eyesight, hearing, memory, testosterone, etc., and we see this in our senior golfers as their drives begin getting shorter, and their handicaps start getting higher. Obviously, the #1 thing that we see in senior golfers is that their bodies begin to get brittle, and their posture becomes more stooped over and their strides become shorter. In desperation, they reach out to the latest state of the art driver, the new teacher wholl show them the latest tour move, and they try out any new swing tip that comes along. The truth is that until they restore the RANGE OF MOTION i n their bodies, these short term solutions (for their long term problems), will linger, but surely will not last. After all, by just working on this new state of the art swing position or their new driver, isnt going to grow them a new hamstring or hip flexor.
What my experience has proven to me is that the most effective way to restore the seniors golf games, is by instilling an effective flexibility program. Although they clearly need strength and cardio as well, Ive seen too many people with tight bodies actually become tighter, by incorporating a strengthening program. In other words, when a tight body is strengthened, in most cases, it will become tighter, and a tight body, is death to a golfer.
A TIGHT BODY IS DEATH TO A GOLF SWING
A proper strengthening program should increase flexibility but Ive never seen a strengthening program yet, that will get a person more flexible than a proper flexibility program, and again, it is flexibility first and foremost that senior citizens need. How many elderly senior golfers have you seen that make a smooth ninety degree shoulder turn?
What is a proper stretching protocol? First it must start with proper breathing and, the breathing must be in sync with the movement and flow of the stretch. When a person breathes properly, the oxygen will get deep into the nerve spindles and nerve fibers of the fascia, and as the fascia begins to relax, the muscle will begin to contract and expand more and hence, will gain more flexibility. A person who doesnt breathe properly and forces their stretch, will actually suffocate the oxygen from reaching the nerve spindles, and create a mytotatic stretch reflex, which will actually tighten the muscle!
Next, the appropriate muscle chains must be recognized. That is; muscles run in chains, much like tile on a roof. Although theyre all separate, they all run and flow together. For example, if one wants to specifically stretch out an impinged shoulder, the place to start is usually with the calves, then hamstrings, then up to the hips, glutes, erectors, and finally the shoulder. Just going straight to the shoulder is usually a waste of time, just like changing a flat tire which got flat due to the chassis being out of alignment, will only get flat again. Until the chassis is realigned, only then will the wheel turn over properly. Remember, the entire body is one incredible working UNIT and all the integrated parts must be worked together; so in stretching, always start from the ground up and, in the appropriate muscle chain.
